Perch is an early phase concept for the renovation and addition of a home situated 40 miles outside of Las Vegas at Mt. Charleston. New exterior cladding was proposed - a combination of shou sugi ban, concrete, running seam, and stacked stone - materials that worked in harmony with the site's natural surroundings. Care was taken to utilize the home's existing structure to reduce cost for the owner and lessen the environmental impact on the site. Interior walls were reconfigured to better suit the needs of the owners and optimize functionality and interior views.
