As a child, I filled several composition notebooks with “blueprints” of anthill designs for the ants in my ant farm. I drew ant hospitals, ant libraries, ant schools -anything that would make life a little better for my ants.
The opportunity to influence the human (or the ant) experience is what initially drew me to design – and its what keeps me passionate about it.
I view my role as a designer as one that allows me to connect people to their spaces in a meaningful and beautiful way. It is a role that allows me to enrich lives and communities, and it’s my favorite part about my job.
My ultimate career goal is to give back to my community - Rural Studio/Samuel Mockbee style.
Other than design - I love my husband, my cat, Southern soul food, science fiction, and camping.
